Hello everyone and welcome to my blog, Dina Does It! As this is my very first blog entry, I would like to introduce myself and welcome you all to my world of inspiration, DIY and so much more. I started this blog because like so many others, I wanted to make my home my own. However, also like many others, buying a home was quite the expense and getting your home just the way you like it costs time and money. I’ve never been the type to spend a whole lot of money on something, not only because I just don’t have it LOL but I’d like to think that even if I did have money I would definitely still be a creative person, down-to-earth and being economical. Let’s face it, even if you have a lot of money you won’t have it very long if you spend it foolishly. Being a homeowner for the past 8 months has really taught me a lot about myself, my home and my limits, which I’ve realized, I don’t have any. And neither do you! There is nothing that you cannot do or learn to do. The way you’re going to pay someone else to do a project for you at 150% markup, you can do that same exact project for a fraction of the cost and not to mention, you’ll gain something so much more valuable in return: the pride of doing it yourself. And when people come to your home and say wow, those floors look great or wow that coffee station is amazing! You can say, I did it myself!
Before purchasing this home, I had a never-ending list of pins on Pinterest, items on my wishlist on Amazon, and so many ideas in my head that people would look at me like, oh my goodness how on Earth are you going to accomplish all of that? What you need to know is that it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, or says or thinks of you. What matters is that you do not limit yourself and you go as far as your imagination can take you. Trust me, there are a lot of people who will not be supportive of your endeavors. They’ll think you’re living above your means or you’re not being practical or maybe even think that you’re just being downright cheap because you want to do it yourself. So that I say, Do Your Own Thing! And do it your own way! Don’t ever let anyone hinder your ideas, stagnate you or trick you into thinking you can’t do something because believe me, you can do whatever it is that you put your mind to. You’ve just got to put your mind to it!
I created this blog because I’m extremely passionate about being creative, and bringing ideas to life. I want to be able to share my experiences with you. I want to share the mistakes, the ups, the downs and everything in between. There is no ego here. If I made a mistake I’m going to flat out write in black and white on that blog so that if you attempt to do the same project you will not make that same mistake. Rest assured you might make a few others of your own but that’s part of the process of being creative and you learn from that. My goal is for all of you to take this journey with me and bring to life all of your ideas and give old stuff a new life. You would be amazed at the things that you already have around your house and how you can turn it into something new. Things that you wouldn’t even think of that you can create. You’ll truly be amazed!
And so my friends, I’d like to close with saying thank you so much for visiting my blog. I look forward to sharing and posting all of my creations with you. And I encourage you all to please leave feedback, and share your experiences with me. Please send pictures! I would love to see all of the projects you’re doing. I’d like to think of us as a family of creators and innovators and I just can’t wait to see what we all create and share!
My blogs will post three times per week. On Mondays, you’ll find a new blog of a DIY project that I had completed. On Wednesdays, will be something health-related, be it an awesome healthy recipe, an exercise tutorial or something health-related. On Fridays, you’ll find a different product review for a product that I’ve tried or purchased. It’s my way of giving back and advertising for products that have done so well for me and if they’ve made me happy I’d love to share it with you and maybe it’s a fit for you as well. I will always post pictures, tutorials and for reviews, I’ll post a link to the product in case you’re interested in trying it as well. Sometimes I’ll post a video here and there as well especially when it comes to products so that you can get a better idea of what it looks like, stability Etc.
And so my friends, happy creating! See you soon! Friday actually!
